I was so excited to be able to participate in Charlotte’s 2nd Mini Maker Faire this past weekend at Discovery Place Science. Over 3,200 people spent their day with us, making things, learning things, and having fun despite the torrential rain brought on by Hurricane Matthew.
They put me in an amazing spot — at the bottom of the stairs and elevator, right by the registration desk — so I think many of those 3,200 people actually placed stickers on the sticker wall. That’s some serious collaboration, and probably explains why we completed the wall with more than three hours to go in the day! Next year, I’m going to have to make it a whole lot more complex. Apparently 10,000 stickers wasn’t enough!
Here’s a time lapse video of the entire process:
And here are some pictures of the wall over the course of the day. Look how many different people worked on it!
Hooray for Maker Faire! Thank you everyone for making this a great day!!
STEP AWAY FROM THE SCREEN AND MAKE SOMETHING
We all have screens in our lives — it’s a fact we can’t deny, nor, really, would we want to. Screens are awesome. But that doesn’t mean they have to rule our every waking moment.
